This 1.5 ha plot in Chassagne-Montrachet sits just below the premier cru 'Abbaye de Morgeot' (0.9 hectares replanted with white grapes in 2012 and 0.6 hectares planted with Pinot Noir in 1945).

Hand harvested. Long, slow fermentation in oak barrels over 2 months. 12 months ageing on the leeds in barrel before a further 2 months in tank. 30% new oak.

Lots of lovely spiced oak - spiced pear, apricot, green fruit, cloves, attractive nutty, kernel bitterness.

Legros Brothers Samuel and Lénaïc are the 6th generation of the family to run the domaine, having taken over from their mother, Christiane.

Based in Santenay, they have an enviable collection of old vines across their holdings. The brothers are rightly obsessed with the upkeep and care of these vines and aim to let them live long lives as naturally as possible.
