This Chardonnay comes from a 0.55 ha plot of 50 year old vines, south-facing on the Trois Croix hill, a high altitude site in Santenay-le-Haut. All grapes are harvested by hand before slow fermentation in barrel over 2 months. The wine spends 12 months in barrel on the lees and then a further 2 months in tank. 30% new oak.

Grown up Chardonnay! Dense and fleshy citrus, grapefruit, persistent acidity and tons of spice, toffee apple, bitter brown sugar.

Legros Brothers Samuel and Lénaïc are the 6th generation of the family to run the domaine, having taken over from their mother, Christiane.

Based in Santenay, they have an enviable collection of old vines across their holdings. The brothers are rightly obsessed with the upkeep and care of these vines and aim to let them live long lives as naturally as possible.
